The Recreation Department provides programs for youth and adult recreation, and senior citizens. The Recreation office is open Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. For information please call 763.706.3730. The Recreation Department is located in John P. Murzyn Hall.

Senior Citizens
The Columbia Heights Senior Center, located in the lower level of John P. Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill Street, provides a wide variety of educational, social, and recreational programs to individuals 55 years and older in the community. The center also serves as a resource center for senior concerns and issues. It is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
A monthly newsletter informs seniors of programs, classes and special events being offered at the Senior Center, Recreation Office, Public Library and senior housing facilities.

Murzyn Hall
John P. Murzyn Hall is operated and maintained by the City of Columbia Heights for the enjoyment and benefit of the residents of the community. It is comprised of a number of meeting rooms, the Recreation Office, a Senior Center, pre-school room, multi-purpose rooms, lounge area, kitchen facilities, and main hall. Information regarding rental of this facility can be obtained by calling (763) 706-3730 , Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Kordiak Park, located in Columbia Heights at 1721 49th Avenue NE, is part of the Anoka County parks system and is operated and maintained by the Anoka County Parks Department.
Hylander Center
The Hylander Center is a gymnasium and exercise room facility run by the City of Columbia Heights. It was built in 2009 in partnership with the Columbia Heights School District adjacent to the High School. The Hylander Center is open to the public during scheduled times. Please see the monthly calendar for availability. General rates: $1 daily drop in, $10 monthly pass for CH residents and $20 monthly pass for non-residents.
